Journalist, BBC Radio Nottingham
BBC Radio Nottingham’s patch is diverse and interesting. You will need to be comfortable finding stories in a big city, a rural village, a former mining town, or a leafy suburb – because Nottinghamshire has them all.
You’ll be a broadcast journalist with strong news judgement and a creative approach to telling stories. You’ll be confident finding and researching original stories that matter to our listeners. You’ll need to be a strong all-rounder as happy to turn your hand to reporting, producing, or putting together a bulletin. You’ll work across a range of shifts including weekends.
Are you the right candidate?
You’ll already have experience of working in a radio, television or multi-media newsroom and be determined to make your mark in ours. You’ll be able to show that you can generate original stories and deliver them in creative and entertaining ways.
A great on air voice is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly, and be a team player. Sound editorial judgement and an understanding of our audience are essential. Knowledge of Nottinghamshire is desirable but not essential.
In addition to your CV please include a document covering the following topic:
Please submit two stories ideas and how you would develop them for radio and social media
Please note – you’ll be asked to upload this document as part of your CareersHub application, after the equal opportunities questions.
Applications which do not have this submission or late submissions will not be considered.
