The Role

We are seeking a morning news anchor to join our dynamic team. The key focus of this role is to write, compile and read bulletins across 98FM that meet with our programming objectives and style. The role offers experience in a vibrant and exciting work environment.

Responsibilities, Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate will support the work of the news team and will report to the Editor of News and Entertainment.

What you’ll do

You will:

  • Write clear concise news copy for the 98 FM audience and for the network of local independent radio stations
  • Drive the Dublin news agenda by identifying and following up stories of interest to the 98 FM audience
  • Deliver bulletins that match the stations unique tone of voice and meet with brand objectives.
  • Conduct interviews and cut clips for news
  • Interact with presenters where appropriate while maintaining journalistic integrity
  • Post key stories to the 98 FM website that help maintains the stations position as ‘First for Dublin news’
  • Maintain the stations social media presence

  • A passion for news and current affairs
  • Excellent nose for a story and the tenacity needed to chase it
  • Thorough working knowledge of the laws of libel
  • Superb judgement
  • An ability to segue seamlessly from hard news to kicker stories
