Guest Booker (Freelance)

Contract Type: Freelance (2–3 Days Per Week)

About Fix Radio

Fix Radio is the UK’s fastest-growing radio brand and the home of entertainment, music, and information for tradespeople across the country.

Broadcast nationally on DAB, Fix Radio reaches over 750,000 weekly listeners and continues to grow rapidly across both audience and commercial performance. We work with some of the biggest personalities in construction, entertainment, comedy, and broadcasting — and we’re looking to expand our guest roster even further.

The Role

Fix Radio is looking for a tenacious, well-connected, and proactive Freelance Guest Booker to help secure high-profile guests across the station’s programming.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, opening doors, and making things happen. You’ll spend much of your time pitching, emailing, calling, networking, and following up with agents, publicists, managers, brands, and talent representatives to secure exciting guests for our shows.

You must be resilient, persistent, and comfortable hearing “no” regularly — because securing great guests often takes patience, creativity, and determination.

A strong existing contact book within media, entertainment, sport, comedy, music, social media, or construction is highly desirable, but not essential for the right candidate with the right attitude and drive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach high-profile guests relevant to Fix Radio’s audience and programming.
  • Build and maintain relationships with agents, PRs, managers, and talent representatives.
  • Secure interviews, guest appearances, and exclusive content opportunities across the station.
  • Work closely with producers and presenters to align guest bookings with show content and editorial strategy.
  • Research relevant talent, current trends, launches, tours, campaigns, and media opportunities.
  • Manage guest schedules, logistics, briefing notes, and communication professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach, responses, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Bring fresh ideas and ambition to help raise the profile of Fix Radio and its programming.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident pitching to talent representatives and decision-makers.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and persistent.
  • Comfortable working independently and proactively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in media, entertainment, radio, comedy, sport, or popular culture.

Desirable

  • Existing contacts within media, entertainment, PR, talent management, or broadcasting.
  • Previous experience in talent booking, radio production, podcasting, TV, PR, or events.
  • Understanding of the Fix Radio audience and tone of voice.

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who enjoys the challenge of landing high profile guests and understands that success in booking comes through consistency, resilience, and relationship-building.

This is not a role for someone who gives up after the first rejection. We’re looking for someone motivated by the pursuit, excited by opportunities, and hungry to help grow one of the UK’s most exciting media brands.

What We Offer

  • Flexible freelance working arrangement (2–3 days per week).
  • Opportunity to work with one of the UK’s fastest-growing radio brands.
  • Creative and collaborative team culture.
  • Access to high-profile talent and industry contacts.
  • Opportunity to play a key role in shaping the station’s content and profile.
