Based on GM's Gen V small-block architecture, the LT4 engine is a 6.2L supercharged V8. It has a factory supercharger that produces enormous torque throughout the whole RPM range, an aluminum block, direct injection, and variable valve timing. Because of this configuration, the LT4 may outperform many engines with bigger displacement while still being lightweight and small.
