  • All Oldies Radio is looking for another legend to join our awesome team! 
We have only been back on the air for a few weeks, but we are growing fast and we now find ourselves searching for a self employed Radio Sales Executive to help us boost our success !
We are looking for someone who can join our amazing team and take responsibility for generating income from advertising sales and sponsorship.
Reporting directly to the Sales Director, this role primarily involves selling the benefits of All Oldies Radio as an advertising medium, to both agencies and individual clients, ensuring that they get their product in front of our loyal listeners at the right price.
You will be part of a dynamic and friendly team of broadcast professionals…. but don’t worry if this is your first taste of the radio industry because you are about to learn a lot!
The successful candidate will work from home (or any place they choose!) and will be expected to use their own tools and equipment to undertake their role.
Hours are flexible.  In fact you will manage your own time so its perfect if you need to fit around the demands of your family… or if you like to take a couple of hours at lunch and work later then that’s fine too.  None of us work normal hours, but you will need to be mindful of the hours that your clients work.
You are not chained to your desk, however we trust our team to keep in touch and work with full focus wherever they are.  Its important that you have a reliable internet connection so that the team and the clients can make contact!
This role is self employed and commission only.

The Ideal Candidate

What are we looking for?
Well, the perfect person will be keen to learn and confident enough to shout for help when you need it.
You will be happy to work independently but also know that you are an important cog in our small but perfectly formed team!
You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to manage your own time and you will be very detail focussed.
While broadcast sales experience is beneficial, its not a requirement.  You will have access to full support from one of our experienced directors.

Likewise some knowledge of the radio industry, different station and programme styles, and audience demographics will be a great head start ….  Have you listened to us?  Do you get our vibe? Do you know what our listeners might like?  If you don’t listen to us already, it may be time to start !

You will of course have the ability and desire to sell - we know that this particular skill is not for everyone!

You will have the ability to think creatively and generate original ideas and you will be a self starter who gets up and does the job without being pushed.
You will have the confidence and tenacity to follow leads, overcome obstacles, and secure deals…. and  you will have the resilience to deal with rejection (because not all shots hit the target)

This role is offered on a self employed, commission only basis.
We have a generous commission structure with unlimited earning potential
Remote working (so no worries about that soul sucking commute)
Flexible hours (no need to be chained to your desk!) - this is not your average ‘9 to 5’
Being remote does not mean being isolated - you will be very much part of the team and we are constantly in contact with one another through the day, either via a messaging app or regular Zoom calls.

Commission rates

Commission is paid monthly at 25% for all new sales up to a total of £1500
Commission rates above that monthly target will increase on a sliding scale
There is no limit to the commission paid, however there is a limit to the advertising space available.
Job Description
  • Identify potential clients and build relationships
  • Research clients to ascertain their advertising history, preference and needs
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations to potential clients/agencies
  • Present to clients the benefits of advertising with All Oldies Radio and how we can help promote their products or services in the most effective way
  • Explain service features, estimate of cost and terms of service
  • Provide clients with full proposals for advertising products or services
  • Maintain a good working relationship with new and existing customers
  • Conduct price negotiations (Prices will be fixed by the Sales Director)
  • Close sales deals, secure contract approval, and ensure the processing of all essential paperwork
  • Undertake independent learning to stay up-to-date with current developments in radio advertising and all legal and industry requirements
  • Review advertising sales services to ensure they meet client requirements.
