Job Description

• The Assistant Radio Producer will provide support to the radio broadcasting studio team in planning, producing, and delivering high-quality radio shows and content. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for radio broadcasting. The role will be based full-time in our Islington-based studio.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the research, development, and planning of radio show topics and content.
• Collaborate with the production team to create engaging and entertaining radio scripts.
• Coordinate and schedule interviews, guests, and contributors for radio shows.
• Prepare and edit audio recordings, ensuring high sound quality and clarity.
• Assist in the production of live radio shows, including operating audio equipment and managing on-air timings.
• Contribute creative ideas to enhance the quality and appeal of radio shows.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the studio.
• Assist in managing social media platforms and engaging with the radio station's online audience.
• Support in administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining databases.
• Stay updated with industry trends, music releases, and current affairs to ensure relevant and up-to-date radio content.

Requirements

• Proven experience or qualification in radio production, journalism, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in UK English.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in audio editing software and radio broadcasting equipment.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of music genres, popular culture, and current events.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Attention to detail and a keen ear for audio quality.
