The Team: talkRADIO is the Home of Common Sense where Britain's best presenters deliver big opinions on the stories that matter to the nation.

Your Role: As the Assistant Producer for talkRADIO’s breakfast show, reporting to the Content Editor - you will generate ideas, compile features, write scripts and assist during live programming. You will have a real interest for news and current affairs and a genuine passion for putting a programme together. The working days/hours for this role will be Mon-Fri, 5am-12pm.

Day to day you will:

  • Book guests and provide updates on which guests have appeared on the show or station
  • Write scripts, update the running order, provide briefing notes and articles for on-air presenters
  • Contribute and execute ideas whilst working to tight deadlines
  • Help note, flag and store highlights from programmes which can be used in ‘Best Of’ programmes and award entries
  • Edit promos and loading schedules
  • Ensure the programme is in-sync with our website and social media.
  • Be fully aware of all compliance issues including Ofcom and reporting restrictions
  • Be familiar with a range of visualisation tools, such as edit clips live on air
  • Help implement a clear social media strategy for the radio station in conjunction with the Digital Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring clear communication with other APs, Producer and Technical Operator
  • Will be required to work evening and weekends
  • To undertake any other responsibility deemed appropriate
