Start date: mid-March 2022 until September 2022 with possibility of extension

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, flexible times to suit candidate

Location: home based, remote working

Fee: £30,000 pro rata

Reporting to: Director, Little Wander

Interviews: conducted remotely, exact dates flexible in February 2022 to suit applicant

Little Wander is a comedy production company working across festivals, tours, live events, TV, radio and podcasts. This role requires working independently to record, edit and deliver podcasts and radio programmes for broadcast.

  • Working knowledge of BBC editorial guidelines
  • Remaining calm, friendly and professional in challenging circumstances

Key responsibilities

  • Remote audio recording using a combination of ipDTL and local recordings
  • Confidence to guide recordings where required to ensure optimal content
  • Ability to edit podcasts and radio programmes and deliver final versions to broadcast standard (equipment/software can be provided where required)
  • Talent management of hosts and guests
  • Suggesting and securing appropriate guests, scheduling records, managing technical difficulties, and providing support to technophobic guests
  • Liaising with hosts, agents, transcribers, artists and contributors and creating a friendly, relaxed, professional environment at all times
  • Meeting with podcast platforms and commissioners
  • Production, editing and compliance of BBC radio programmes
  • Keeping the marketing department across TX dates for promotion

Desirable but not essential

  • Welsh or living in Wales
  • Experience developing and pitching new audio ideas to commissioners
  • An understanding of how to use the DAX podcast portal
