Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Broadcast Engineer to join the team at Bauer Media Audio in Scotland - at the home of Clyde 1 in Glasgow, the Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Radio Networks in Scotland.

As the Broadcast Engineer, you will be responsible for broadcast systems with the focus being the delivery of effective and efficient technical solutions. This role could be suited to someone looking to begin or develop a career within the radio industry.  You will be an excellent communicator and able to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels and in all departments. Technical skills could come from your education, previous employment, or a particular technical interest.

You’ll be expected to work closely with all Bauer Media teams, supporting and collaborating with colleagues in different areas of the business. Helping people will not be a chore for you - it will be why you get out of bed each morning.

 

The location of this post is at Bauer Media’s studio centre in Clydebank to the West of Glasgow.  Normal working hours are 9am until 5:30pm Monday to Friday, with 25 days holiday. Some out of hours and on call work is required, as well as ad-hoc work at other Bauer Media sites.

 

Our Team:

Part of the UK-wide Radio Technology team, providing specialist support to the business for the systems that make our radio stations work

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the audio business day-to-day as part of a team
  • Fault finding operational issues and finding solutions in a timely manner
  • Planning and organising the maintenance of our facilities
  • Working on a variety of projects to help the business develop

What you’ll bring:

Part of a small team, a Broadcast Engineer will have:

  • Knowledge of AOIP studio/ routing systems and broadcast chains.
  • An understanding of playout, news, logging, and streaming systems.
  • Experience with video systems would be an advantage as our brands evolve with a greater visual presence.
  • You will have expert fault-finding skills, a drive to help people and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • You’ll have a passion for technology and a keen interest in audio and video and a desire to be a part of the fast-paced environment of radio.
