We’re a passionate and creative bunch here at JACK and we’re looking for someone brimming with original story ideas to join our ambitious news team.
Already this year our Journalists have bagged FIVE nominations at the IRN Awards, plus our first ever British Podcast Award nod in the 'current affairs' category.
We're a small team that produces a LOT of news, reading bulletins during our new breakfast and drivetime shows on six JACK stations (local and national)
Yes, we’re looking for someone with a great voice, but you'll also have plenty of opportunity to get out-and-about as we cover the news and views of the whole of Oxfordshire.
One day you could be off to a crime scene, the next you might be reporting from a climate change protest ... or wading through flood waters in your wellies!
You'll be sourcing and writing stories, conducting and editing interviews and creating content for our news and Twitter pages, plus helping to present and produce features for The Oxfordshire News Podcast.
Also, if you're interested in getting involved in stuff outside of news, we'd love to hear your ideas - nobody here at JACK does just one job.
The news team recently helped raise £63,000 during a 24-hour live broadcast from Ronald McDonald House in Oxford, where we shared the heartbreaking stories and journeys of the parents who use the facilities.
If you'd like to join the JACK family - and have a media law qualification - please get in touch!
We're looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years experience working in a radio newsroom (or similar role).
Please send your CV and an MP3 demo, including a news bulletin and an example of your reporting skills, to our News Editor at firstname.lastname@example.org.
