Job Role: Broadcast Journalist (Full time position)
Location: Wolverhampton (Signal 107)
Are you a Broadcast Journalist looking for a full time position? We’re looking for someone who thrives on looking for local news stories that matter to our audience. This is a full time staff position where you will be working in our Wolverhampton studios, broadcasting across the West Midlands, North Worcestershire and Shropshire.
The role is desk based and involves turning around copy to tight deadlines, responding quickly to breaking news and creating news lines and engaging audio clips, from guests across our network.
We are looking for people who are passionate about news, who can use their initiative to produce first-class stories and have an outstanding broadcasting voice.
You will need:
- A journalism qualification (NCTJ or Degree)
- Great voice and writing skills
- Strong working knowledge of media law
- Experience of working on a radio/TV news desk - both reading bulletins and reporting.
- Ideally you’ll have an interest and working knowledge of sport.
- Knowledge and previous use of Burli software would be an advantage
