Executive Producer – Podcast / Speech (Full time)

Leading projects across TBI’s highly varied non-linear and speech output, helping develop ideas, producing content to an exceptionally high level and deputising for the Head of Audio when required. This role will manage the day-to-day production, staffing, and delivery of our slate of podcasts and win commissions for new titles.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrable experience of creating amazing audio content.
  • Experience of running production teams
  • Great contacts within the BBC and commercial networks / channels.
  • A creative mindset – this role will include development responsibilities.

There will be some hands-on studio production. You will lead by example taking the helm of one of our flagship podcasts, and demonstrating to the team first-hand what great production looks like.

You’ll represent TBI in editorial meetings, client meetings, networking and pitches – ensuring TBI is connected to channels and platforms.

We expect the Executive Producer to help win more commissions where they make good business sense and further our strategic ambitions. The EP will assist the Head of Audio in the development, writing and pitching of ideas to channels.

An important part of this role is developing the talented team of producers already making these shows. This will be through 1-to-1 sessions, assisting with production and helping to expand TBI’s monthly training programme.

In addition to the above we are also (ideally) looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • A positive attitude
  • A natural ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • A love of audio
  • Strong talent management skills.
  • Ideas. Lots of them.
  • Already developed skills in editing using BBC VCS, and ideally proficient in Reaper
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • A good-level of technical skill and experience – both in audio recording, studio operation and IT.
  • An interest in the world outside your specialist area – whether it’s arts, current affairs, pop culture or politics.
  • Great contacts and the ability to network with commissioners and talent (and agents)
  • An understanding of the importance of health and safety practices
  • An good understanding of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code & BBC Editorial Guidelines.

The role is primarily based at our London (Charlotte Street) office, although currently we are all working to a hybrid pattern of three days remote, and two days in the office. There is likely to be some weekend working due to the nature of the programmes involved[1].

The Executive Producer - Radio will report to the Head of Audio.
