Gaydio is the UK’s LGBTQ+ radio station, broadcasting across multiple cities and reaching over half a million people each week across radio, streaming, social media and events. We are a not-for-profit media organisation driven by community, creativity and impact.

We are looking for a Multimedia Journalist to join our team and help grow our journalism and storytelling across radio, digital and social platforms. This is a unique opportunity for someone passionate about LGBTQ+ stories, community voices and modern media.

About the role
You will create engaging journalism and multimedia content for Gaydio’s website, broadcast output and digital channels. The role combines reporting, writing, audio and video production, and social storytelling, helping ensure LGBTQ+ voices are represented across our platforms.

You’ll work closely with the content team to develop stories, features and interviews that reflect LGBTQ+ life across the UK, including news, culture, entertainment, health and community issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Research, write and produce stories for radio, online and social media
  • Record and edit audio, video and digital content
  • Pitch and develop story ideas relevant to LGBTQ+ audiences
  • Conduct interviews and gather accurate, engaging information
  • Publish and promote content across multiple platforms
  • Work collaboratively with the wider content team

About you

  • Experience in journalism, digital media or broadcasting
  • Strong writing, storytelling and editorial skills
  • Confident using multimedia tools, audio or video editing software
  • Good understanding of social media and digital publishing
  • Passion for LGBTQ+ communities and issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
