About the Role

 

We’re seeking a Multimedia News Reporter to join our dynamic news team. You’ll deliver stories across our stations and the Network News service of Independent Local Radio Stations, with a focus on the daily news schedule. The ideal candidate has MoJo experience, thrives in a fast-paced newsroom, and can work weekends and/or out of hours as needed. Reporting to the Group Head of News, you’ll play a key role in keeping our audiences informed and engaged.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • Attend markings at the direction of the Editor
  • Chase breaking and emerging stories
  • Develop new news lines on existing stories
  • File to hourly deadlines
  • Record and edit audio and video in the field
  • Provide detailed analysis and conduct seamless Q&A’s live on air tailored to a variety of radio programme format
  • Work unsocial hours including weekends

  • You are an experienced multi-media broadcast journalist with a first- class radio and digital skill set.
  • You have an all-consuming interest and passion for news, current affairs, and original journalism.
  • Your contacts book is unrivalled.
  • You have excellent storytelling skills.
  • You are a superb copywriter with the ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of the regulatory, legal environment and institutions of the state.

  • You have 3+ years’ of experience in news reporting
  • You hold a full clean driver's licence
  • You have a third-level degree in Journalism or a related discipline.
