Rhubarb Radio/Rhubarb Smoothies Radio

Rhubarb Radio is the community based radio station for the Wakefield District and South Leeds, and is a not for profit community interest company.  We are about to celebrate our 4th birthday in Oct 2021, and we at the very heart of the community we serve offering news, information, community features, sport, with great entertainment from our dedicated team of over 25 volunteers 24/7. We are "proud to be local"

The station has had huge success building a large loyal audience with a wide range of local businesses supporting the station, with major sponsors too. We broadcast online, on mobiles/tablets, on smart speakers, and broadcast across the Ridings Shopping Centre in the heart of Wakefield reaching over 300,000 people a month, and will be going onto the new local DAB services when they launch in the area.

The station has always had ambitions to expand its operations, and on 3rd May 2021, our rhubarb shoots did grow with the launch of our second "rhubarb" brand- "Rhubarb Smoothies Radio" which is the "tasty smooth mix across West Yorkshire." With an east listening playlist complemented by news, information and great entertainment from a team of presenters who love classic smooth hits, this station is also growing a large loyal audience very quickly as it offers a music genre no other local station delivers in the region.
