Our next Account Manager will embody Bauer Media’s values and drive Bauer’s company strategy and goals into the commercial business to a high standard within agreed parameters and desired timelines.

The Account Manager role will include a number of accounts which will require you to defend and grow whilst actively sourcing new business with a responsibility to grow revenues within your postcode region within the wider Bauer portfolio of audio brands, including digital audio, commercial airtime, sponsorships, promotions, and digital products.

Our Team

Our team in the North East cover the broadcast areas of Metro Radio and TFM. We seek out, meet with and generate engaging advertising solutions based on local clients needs, whether they are looking to drive more footfall to their showroom, generate more activity on their website or even recruit more staff we have a solution for them.


This is a field, home and office based position, the role is covering the Middlesborough area and connected to our office in Newcastle 

Role Responsibility

Our advertising clients are absolutely central to everything we do. As an account manager, you’ll be working hard to attract and win new clients and develop our existing client portfolio.


You’ll be responsible for:

  • Executing Bauer’s commercial strategy
  • Growing group revenues across your territory and the wider Bauer portfolio
  • Managing advertising inventory and price
  • Developing key internal and external customer relationships
  • Achieving personal and team revenue targets

The Ideal Candidate

Communication Skills: You will possess exceptional communication skills that are especially important in enabling effective communication between internal and external partners.


Communication skills are necessary for the account manager when it comes to drafting reports and making presentations to customers, team members, sales management, and key stakeholders.

You must be able to tailor messages in relation to the audience at hand and to present even the most complex messages in clear, simple, digestible, and convincing terms. These skills must be excellent in both written and verbal form.


Technological: You should demonstrate high proficiency in technological systems and programs and an ability to learn and adapt quickly when necessary.


Ideally proficient within MS office, you will have skills in creating both visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations for the senior sales management, sales teams and external customers and relevant stakeholders.


Analytical Skills: You will ideally have a keen interest in conducting research and data-driven insights.


The candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the business’s product range as well as standard strategic, analytical, and marketing concepts.


A suitable candidate for this position will also have a deep understanding of the business’s marketplace models as well as the opportunities and limitations that come along with it.


Interpersonal Skills: The account manager will possess certain interpersonal skills that will encourage openness and trust both internally and externally.


You will be self-motivated, have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, be adaptable to business growth fluctuations, work comfortably and effortlessly in group settings, be a persuasive and charismatic individual, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and work well within a pressured deadline environment.


The successful candidate must also demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and during uncertainty.


Leadership/People Skills: You will need to demonstrate effective people skills, portraying an ability to move and inspire internal and external customers in a unified direction with vision and understanding.


Being a representative of the business, you must also be approachable and able to form strong and long-lasting relationships both internally and externally on behalf of the business.


Results Driven: The account manager will be results driven and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in achieving both personal and team revenue targets.
