Description

BFBS, the Forces Station, wants to hear from you if you love radio/audio, and would like to join our passionate and mission-driven team, co-ordinating, organising, scheduling and producing speech audio content.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Producer to join us on a six-month contract working on speech content across our international network of radio stations, which exist to entertain, inform, connect and champion serving British Forces personnel and their families.

You’ll be a details-oriented person, motivated by smooth-working processes, and able to spin plates to include teams in 20 locations around the world. You’ll be a natural communicator, able to work with people at all levels, keep teams well informed, and use your written skills to prepare material for others to read on-air.

You’ll be passionate about the power of audio as a medium, and know your way around audio editing software and audio recording equipment. You’ll be motivated by our mission, with an interest in providing welfare within the UK military community.

  • You will have:Recent audio production experience, and a demonstrable passion for the medium
  • Strong digital editing skills, and experience of producing features, packages or reports
  • Excellent organisational skills, and a motivation to develop effective workflows and processes
  • Good research and interviewing skills
  • Confidence gathering content in the field, using handheld audio and video recording equipment
  • Experience of working in radio studios and using radio playout systems
  • Excellent written communication skills

This is a hybrid role and you will be required to attend your base in Chalfont St Peter for a minimum of two days per week, subject to business needs.
