Head of News, KCLR

KCLR, the leading local radio station for Kilkenny and Carlow, is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Head of News to direct our day-to-day news operations.

The chosen candidate will lead our team of journalists in uncovering original, local stories that keep our audience engaged, informed, and up to date with the world around them and will play a pivotal role in integrating our traditional broadcast content with innovative digital media initiatives, ensuring a cohesive and current multi-platform news experience for our growing audience.

As the helm of our news department, you will be entrusted with the task of shaping our news gathering and delivery operations spanning both Carlow and Kilkenny.

We seek a candidate with a passion and enthusiasm for news, an intrinsic understanding of local dynamics, with robust editorial judgment, strong leadership, and a seasoned ability to manage and develop the multifaceted aspects of an ambitious newsroom. As such previous experience in a newsroom or journalistic environment and radio broadcast are essential.
