Assistant Programme Director Executive Producer – Radio Nova

We employ a team of 25 across Programming, Sales, Commercial Production, Promotions and General Administration and broadcast the most seriously addictive music in Ireland, featuring iconic, guitar-led, artists such as The Killers, Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Keane, Foo Fighters, Kaiser Chiefs, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, U2, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, The Who and many more.

Our broadcast day starts with the award-winning breakfast show ‘Morning Glory with PJ & Jim’, moves through the day with ‘Marty @ Work’, ‘Dee Woods’ Lunch Break’, ‘Pat Courtenay in the Afternoon’ and finishes with ‘Nova Nights with Greg Gaughran’ and ‘The Classic Album at Midnight’. This stellar lineup, coupled with news, sport, weather, music, and lifestyle programming makes up the unique on-air mix that attracts almost a quarter of a million listeners across our franchise area.

We are looking for a talented and visionary Assistant Programme Director / Breakfast Producer to join our team.

Reporting to the CEO / Programme Director, you will plan, create and implement on-air strategies and content and play a crucial role in shaping and executing our content strategy across multiple platforms.

Criteria

You will have at least three years’ experience of producing commercial radio at a senior level, be able to manage on-air talent and wish to advance your career by moving to a rapidly growing radio station such as Radio NOVA.

Your duties will include:

• Producing the station’s ‘Morning Glory with PJ & Jim’ breakfast show, with responsibility for broadcast output, show strategy, and digital / social output.
• Reporting to the CEO/Programme Director, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the programming department including implementation of agreed strategy, management of talent / programming personnel, and all broadcast, digital and social output related to on-air programming.
• Working closely with our programming consultants to ensure that strategic objectives are achieved.
• Ensuring all content meets the highest editorial standards & always upholds the broadcast standards operated by Radio Nova.
• Being the critical link to connect many areas of the business and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, record companies and other partners.
• Supporting the Programme Director to develop and implement the overall content strategy for Radio Nova and regularly aircheck, guide and critique on air presenters.

 What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in a senior programming role within the radio industry with a strong understanding of radio programming, audience engagement, and digital content.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention-to-detail with a desire for perfection.
• Good knowledge of Gselector and experience of AMT music testing.
• A team player with big ideas and a passion for music, entertainment, and pop culture.
