About Fix Radio

Fix Radio, is the fastest growing radio station in the UK and is the home of entertainment, music and information for UK tradespeople. Since 2017 the station has been built from the ground-up with tradespeople in mind, providing a mixture of authentic trade voices, up-beat music and a schedule designed around the tradesperson’s day.

The station’s schedule includes some of the biggest talent in the industry, including social media influencers the Bald Builders, Clive Holland of the BBC and formerly Cowboy Trap, the country’s most famous plasterer Chris Frediani from DIY SOS, plumbing influencer Andy Cam, electrician turned YouTuber, Thomas Nagy, carpenter, craftsman and social media influencer Robin Clevett and TV presenter and builder, Mark Millar.

Broadcasting nationally on DAB since May 2022, Fix Radio has grown its weekly reach on average every quarter by over 40% from 85,000 to over 627,000 tradespeople per week and 27 weekly listening hours. The average industry standard listening hours is 6.7, that’s why our commercial partners can achieve stronger ROI for their marketing investments over other radio brands.

We are experiencing rapid growth in all areas of our business from audience growth, turnover, profit and team size. We have an amazing team of almost 60 employees and have attracted and recruited the best talent in the media space. Our success has been enhanced from building a culture of collaboration where everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas and new ways of working to constantly enhance how we operate.

About the Role

To help lead the daytime output of Fix Radio, specifically the Clive Holland Show from a content creation standpoint, overseeing delivery and broadcast of the output, whether for Fix Radio DAB or associated online platforms (YouTube, Podcast, Social Media, On-demand and the Fix Radio App.)

Working with a Senior Producer, the focus of the role should be on maximising the available audience for the Clive Holland Show, broadcast 12-3pm Mondays to Thursdays, impacting overall station reach, listening hours and podcast listening, and enhancing and amplifying Fix Radio’s reputation as the home of music, information and entertainment among UK trade communities.

The Clive Holland Show team will be responsible for driving listenership, audience engagement and interaction around Fix Radio’s flagship “meaningful speech” and music daytime show, led by a prominent trade personality. The Assistant Producer will work closely with the Senior Producer and exterior trade content consultant, to develop, manage and execute an engaging and authentic content agenda that will further cement the reputation of the show as a “thought leader” in trade and construction media, but more importantly grow the audience of the show and increase listening hours.

Ultimately, the role must (alongside the team) identify the story ideas, interviewees, competitions, and regular show features that will build a loyal audience base and position Fix Radio as the leading source of music, entertainment and information for the UK’s 3 million tradespeople. In addition, the successful individual will work closely with the Senior Producer, Programme Director and Assistant Programmer to optimise the on air format of the shows they are aligned to, working to create the best possible format opportunities for building listening hours and creating the ideal framework for delivery of targeted meaningful speech - in terms of scheduling, clock structure and balance, tailored to each broadcast/delivery platform.
