Description

We’re a passionate and creative bunch here at JACK and we’re looking for someone brimming with unique story ideas, to join our ambitious news team.

Last year, we bagged THREE nominations in the IRN Awards; (News Team of the Year and Reporter of the Year x 2) We also dolled up for a night at the UK ARIA Awards, where we one of just 3 commercial stations nominated for Best News Coverage.

We're a small team that produces a LOT of news, reading bulletins for three local JACK stations and one of our national stations, Union JACK.

Yes, we’re looking for someone with a great voice, but aside from the on-air stuff you'll have plenty of chance to get out-and-about (Covid restrictions permitting...) because we’re truly covering the news and views of the whole of Oxfordshire.

One day you could be off to a crime scene, the next you might be reporting from a climate change protest ... or wading through flood waters in your wellies!

You'll also be sourcing and writing stories, conducting and editing interviews and creating content for our news and Twitter pages. You'll be able to get involved with producing special news features for our new news podcast too.

Plus if you're interested in getting involved in stuff outside of news, we'd love to hear your ideas - nobody here at JACK does just one job.

If you'd like to join the family, and have a media law qualification, get in touch. Email your CV and an MP3 demo, including a news bulletin and an example of your reporting skills, to our News Editor at jo.summerbell@jackfm.co.uk.
