Freelance Broadcast Journalist

About us: V2 Radio broadcasts on DAB across the South from studios in Chichester.

We love being a proper independent local radio station, putting listeners at the heart of everything we do. We cover local news, travel, weather and play the best music.

Job Description:  We are seeking dedicated freelance journalists to play a crucial role in covering our on-air news shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Researching news items.
• Interviewing.
• Writing news bulletins.
• Proofreading and fact-checking.
• Reading on air.
• Updating the website.

Essential Criteria:

• Journalism qualifications.
• Proven experience in writing and editing audio.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of West Sussex, East Sussex and Hampshire.
• Ability to work independently but also as a team; we are a nice, friendly bunch at V2 Radio, with no attitudes or big egos and zero tolerance for bad behaviour.
