The role

You’ll be the voice that starts the weekend for listeners across both counties, delivering a music-driven show (mix of AC to 90s throwbacks) featuring local information, what’s on guides, listener requests, Ireland’s Easiest Quiz, and more. This is a self-operated position requiring technical confidence and the ability to work independently.

Hours: Saturday mornings, 6am-10am.

Location: KCLR Studios, Kilkenny (remotes, voice tracking or pre-recording is not an option for this show)

What we're looking for

  • Technical self-op capability or willingness to learn quickly
  • Excellent communication skills and engaging on-air presence
  • Solid understanding of Carlow and Kilkenny geography, communities, and local culture
  • Musical knowledge and appreciation across multiple genres
  • Self-starter mentality with strong time management
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional approach

What we offer

  • Platform to develop your broadcasting career with one of Ireland’s leading local radio stations
  • Professional training and ongoing support
  • Opportunity to connect with and serve a loyal local audience
  • Potential for role development within the station

How to apply

Send a two-minute demo in MP3 format or self-tape showcasing your presenting style to ken@kclr96fm.com with the subject line Weekend Breakfast
