Job Vacancy: Newsreader at Spirit Radio

Spirit Radio is seeking a passionate and dedicated Newsreader to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about key national and global conversations, including issues of special interest to the Christian community.
  • Research, write, and script compelling news stories, including national headlines and topics of special interest to our listeners.
  • Engage with spokespeople, commentators, and experts to gather insights and quotes.
  • Obtain and edit relevant audio content for news segments.
  • Deliver live news broadcasts on-air, while managing news software and systems.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be proactive, capable of working independently and taking initiative.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the Christian worldview and be comfortable tackling complex social issues.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Be confident and active on social media platforms.
  • Experience in journalism or radio is a plus, though not essential.

Remuneration: Spirit Radio is a not-for-profit, listener-supported station and registered charity. The salary will be based on prior experience.
