About the Role
We are seeking a Newsroom Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic news team.
This role's key focus is coordinating the numerous logistics involved in the smooth daily operation of our busy newsrooms in Dublin and across the regions.
Reporting to the Group Director of News, the Newsroom Operations Coordinator will support our news team across all our brands and the Network News service of Independent Local Radio Stations.

What you will do
- Oversee the numerous logistics involved in the smooth daily operation of the Bauer Media Audio Ireland news operation
- Prepare monthly newsroom rosters for all BMAI brands and Network News.
- Managing newsroom staff work and holiday schedules
- Arranging cover for staff who become unavailable for work
- Take full responsibility for forward planning, news diary & day-sheet (list of all known news events taking place on a given day)
- Effectively prioritise and target planning time appropriately
- Set up and pursue stories for next day and future coverage
- Clearing current news Inbox
- Assist with network dispatching duties (alongside afternoon editor) during key 1200-1300 & 1600-1700 hours
- Cover breaks for Afternoon Editor & others where required
- Prepare and dispatch drivetime hourly and half hourly news and sport bulletins for one of our key brands
- Manage freelancers and vendors and process payments
- Make domestic travel arrangements for reporters and correspondents
- Prepare ‘On demand’ news content
- Compile Network News content audits
- Be available for a variety of tasks as they arise; Trouble shooting, sourcing events etc
- Assist with special events: Elections/Referendum planning, count centres, technical, etc.
- Occasionally attend markings as a supplementary reporter and/or act up in other roles as required

- The ideal candidate for this role will be a person with excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.
- Their job will be to provide vital operational support to our busy national newsroom in Marconi House, our Network News clients, our team of editors and reporters based in Dublin along with additional BMAI news desks in Cork, Athlone and Waterford.
- The successful candidate will help support the news team with a variety of daily responsibilities, both short and long term projects and will report directly to BMAI Group Director of News.
