Job Vacancy: Fundraising and Sponsorship Manager

Job Title: Part Time Fundraising and Sponsorship Manager
Location: Govan, Glasgow
Salary: £18,000 per annum
Reports to: Development Manager
Hours: Part-time (18 hours per week)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (12 months)

Purpose of the Role:
Sunny Govan Community Radio is looking for a dynamic and motivated Fundraising and Sponsorship Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies to secure funding from various sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, trusts, and foundations. This role is crucial in ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of our organisation and in supporting our
mission to give the community a voice

Key Responsibilities:
1. Fundraising Strategy:
○ Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals and objectives.
○ Identify and pursue new funding opportunities from various sources, including grants, donations, and sponsorships.

2. Grant-making bodies, Donor and Sponsor Relations:
○ Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and grant-making bodies.
○ Develop and implement donor engagement and retention strategies to ensure ongoing support.
3. Grant Applications:
○ Research and identify suitable grant opportunities.
○ Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications and proposals, ensuring compliance with funders' requirements.

4. Corporate Sponsorships:
○ Identify and approach potential corporate sponsors.

○ Develop sponsorship packages and negotiate sponsorship agreements.
5. Fundraising campaigns :
○ Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns to raise awareness and funds for the organisation.
○ Manage event logistics, including budgeting, marketing, and volunteer coordination.

6. Marketing and Communications:
○ Develop fundraising materials and campaigns to promote fundraising initiatives.
○ Utilize social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to engage with donors and supporters.
7. Reporting and Evaluation:
○ Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities.
○ Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress and outcomes for the Development Manager and Board of Directors.

8. Compliance and Administration:
○ Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and best practices.
○ Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, donor contributions, and sponsorship agreements.

Person Specification:
Essential:
● Proven experience in fundraising, sponsorship, or a similar role.
● Strong understanding of fundraising principles and strategies.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
● Strong organisational and project management skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Proficiency in using fundraising software and CRM systems.
Desirable:
● Experience working in the community radio or non-profit sector.
● Knowledge of grant application processes and requirements.
● Familiarity with the local community and its needs.
