Description
We’re launching an exciting new media project inside HMP High Down - creating a media suite with podcast production, radio and on-display video channels - and we’re looking for the right person to help us bring it to life.
This is a unique chance to: Develop our brand-new prison media project channels in HMP High Down.
You will:
- Work with prison-based participants to create content for broadcast
- Share your skills in either radio, podcasting, or video production
- Help build pathways into employment for people in prison into the podcast industry.
The role is formally titled Band 4 Vocational Instructor (Media and Podcast), but essentially, you’ll be at the heart of shaping a pioneering project right from the start.
As our station manager, you will develop the project space, participant activities and programme our prisoner-facing radio and TV display channels. You’ll teach media skills to prison-based participants, enabling them to create broadcast-ready content while developing pathways into employment after release.
You’ll be supported by a team of London-based prison media, podcast and communications experts as we establish this new initiative.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in media (radio/podcast preferred, video skills welcomed)
- Some background in teaching/training or skills delivery
- A portfolio of audio or visual content you’ve created
Whether you’re starting with some experience or have years under your belt and want to pass on your skills, this could be the perfect fit.
