Global Player Production Assistant (up to 9 months FTC)

Reporting of the role

This role reports to the Senior Product Manager (Programming)

Overview of job

Global has been at the ground- breaking of developing radio apps across our brands – and we are now looking for a new member to join the award-winning team. We’re looking for someone who’s full of ideas, has a strong technical understanding and passion to drive listening in the ever-changing digital world.

You should ideally have a good level of experience in music scheduling systems, particularly GSelector, and a strong technical understanding; while Producer experience is preferable, it is not essential. You should have some experience using audio editing software, particularly Adobe Audition and/or Pro Tools.

3 best things about the job

  • You’ll see and hear your hard work playing out to our listeners
  • We work across all of our music stations, including our brand extensions – the Heart Decades stations, Capital XTRA Reloaded, Smooth Chill and Smooth Country
  • You’ll be actively working towards maintaining the highest quality broadcast standards

Measures of success –

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Received full training on our MyRadio system, and taken charge of managing your own set of stations
  • Tackled your own pool of our Global-branded playlists, curating and updating them on a regular basis
  • Presented new playlist ideas to the team

Responsibilities of the role

  • You’ll work proactively to drive an increase in listening and engagement with our stations across a variety of platforms.
  • You will be largely responsible for curation of and management of a designated pool of Global Player playlists and ensuring the highest quality MyRadio listener experience.
  • And you’ll work closely with presenters and programming staff, online editors and our technology department to develop, build and maintain an enhanced listening experience for each of our Global brands.

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • Thinking creatively and outside the box
  • Being a brand guardian, ensuring the highest quality output for the brands you look after
  • Showing a keen curiosity about a wide range of music
  • Taking the initiative to seek out solutions and new ways of pushing the product forward

Everyone is welcome at Global

Just like our media and entertainment platforms are for everyone, so are our workplaces. We know that we can’t possibly serve our diverse audiences without first nurturing and celebrating it in our people and that’s why we work hard to create an inclusive culture for everyone. We believe that different will set us apart, so no matter what you look like, where you come from or what your favourite radio station is, we want to hear from you.

Although we cannot make guarantees, we welcome conversations about flexible working for all roles at Global
