As the HR & Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the wider team, providing advice and guidance on HR and finance matters, and working closely with department heads to ensure the efficient and effective management of budgets, accounts and payroll.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR and finance, with experience in managing budgets, accounts, and payroll. You will be highly organised and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, from senior management to production staff, and will be able to manage your workload effectively in a busy and fast-paced environment.

What you'll do within HR:

  • Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment, induction and onboarding through to offboarding
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are legally compliant, up to date and streamlined
  • Handle HR matters promptly, fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements
  • Provide support and guidance to managers in the development and application of HR policies and procedures
  • Administrate the company’s performance review programme and training programs
  • Advise on employee relations matters such as probations, performance improvement plans, disciplinary processes and other business matters
  • Coordinate paid internship programme
  • Respond to queries from colleagues regarding payroll, benefits, etc. and resolve day to day issues
  • Oversee execution of core HR processes ie. sickness and absence management, annual leave records and the maintenance of employment records for the organisation

What you'll do within finance:

  • Prepare financial reports including management accounts
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable
  • Manage the accounts inbox and resolve supplier invoice queries
  • Prepare BACS runs
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers
  • Process bank transactions and purchase orders within Xero

What we're looking for:

  • A qualification in HR or a related field, OR equivalent working experience of at least two years
  • An up-to-date understanding of current and forthcoming employment law
  • Experience of producing accurate and complex employment/contractual documentation and correspondence
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and credibility at all levels within the company
  • Experience with contract administration
  • Understanding and experience of Data Protection requirements
  • Diligent, conscientious and with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into a people strategy
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver in a remote work environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive documentation
  • Effective research and project management skills
  • Strong IT capabilities

Job Type: Part-time

Part-time hours: 24 per week

Salary: £28,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Flexitime
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Salford: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Human resources: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CIPD (preferred)
