Cameo Productions is an established Fitzrovia-based broadcasting consultancy and audio production house specialising in radio PR campaigns for entertainment releases.  Our clients include the major movie studios, film distribution and entertainment companies. Our audio press kits, based on our interviews with the world’s biggest stars and directors, provide radio stations nationwide with everything they need to cover the latest releases and secure our clients great exposure. From recording studios, and on-location in the UK and abroad, we conduct virtual and in-person radio interview sessions to stations anywhere in the world, serving clients in the film, TV and entertainment industries and beyond. Cameo’s success has been built on our 34-year reputation for quality.

We are looking for a passionate and tech savvy junior level Audio Engineer/Producer to join our Production Team. Your role will be to produce the Audio Press Kits for clients and radio stations, and to engineer and record interview sessions with high-profile guests, both in the studio and in remote locations. You will cover red carpet events, press conferences, interview high-profile talent, and edit the audio ready for broadcast. You may also record, edit and produce podcast episodes and social media assets.

The ideal candidate’s skills will be technically focussed, somebody who knows an XLR from a TRS, but also somebody who is assured when editing audio and (ideally) video. You will also have confidence and enthusiasm to attend press conferences and red carpet events to potentially interview high-profile talent.  As well as the above, you will have a keen interest and understanding of film, radio and digital media.

Given the nature of our work, the successful candidate should be prepared to work outside normal office hours and should live close enough to London to attend events in the city and spend one to three days in the city each week. You will need to be readily available for out of hours work and be prepared to cancel personal plans to do so, e.g., late evening or early morning sessions from international time zones, last minute content editing/uploads, early morning Radio Rotation set-ups either in the studio or on location at hotels, evening red carpets/events/screenings, sometimes at short notice as we are often informed with a few hours’ notice on the day of the event and you must attend.

In summary, the successful candidate will have:

  • A solid understanding of broadcast technology
  • Experience using microphones and mixing desks and the confidence to use them to make broadcast quality voice recordings and facilitate seamless live link ups
  • Knowledge of audio formats and their applications
  • The ability to work under pressure in a professional manner, potentially with high-profile clients and guests
  • An ability to edit audio quickly, to broadcast quality, in Adobe Audition or equivalent software
  • A solid understanding of IT (both software and hardware)
  • The ability to write clear and accurate supporting cues and copy
  • A passion for film & TV and good knowledge of all UK media
  • A passion for, and a sound knowledge of, what makes good radio
  • An understanding of podcasting and what makes a successful podcast

Although not a requirement, the ideal candidate will also have:

  • An understanding of basic video editing and associated software
  • Experience using IP codecs to connect to radio desks
  • Experience using a web-based content management system (CMS)
  • Some experience working in a professional broadcast environment
  • Experience in setting up recording equipment remotely outside of a studio environment
  • Experience in making and distributing podcasts

The role will be split between working from home and our central London office with attendance at central London screenings, hotel junkets and events. If you don’t have a suitable home working set up, our central London office is available to you.

This is an initial six-month contract with a view to extend. If this sounds like you, please send a CV and Cover Letter detailing your radio and wider media experience and why you're right for this role (no more than 250 words) to recruitment@cameopro.com by 30th August.

APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT SEND BOTH CV AND COVERING LETTER WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

We are unable to answer queries by phone or in person.

Salary according to experience.
