About the Role

Bauer Media Audio Ireland is looking an eager, aspirational and motivated individual to join our award-winning video team in Dublin Ireland. You would ideally be a new graduate with at least a year’s worth of experience in an industry relevant role, that is eager to learn and quick to adapt to a dynamic and demanding, yet exciting, position in a fun and professional environment. We’re looking for a team player, who’s not afraid of diving head first into new technical territories and is willing to take the time and have the patience to learn more and grow as a professional.

You’ll be involved in a wide range of roles and projects that encompass social video creation, long-form documentary work, in-house commercial production, live event coverage and all the pre and post production that encompasses that. You’ll be supporting the Head of Video and Senior Shooting-Editors, as well as external freelancers, through a variety of projects. The work will be quick, engaging and exciting and requires dedication and professionalism throughout. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the Sony camera ecosystem and Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as being willing and able to shoot on a phone and understand how to so to a broadcast ready standard. You should also possess a clean and valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel around the country to service the variety of video projects that we undertake.

 

You will be guided and taught on best practices for exposure, composition, lighting and editing, but pre-existing knowledge of the former will be incredibly advantageous. You should be aware of current social media trends and how audiences engage with the content that they enjoy, as well as being conscious of how Irish and international brands align themselves with the way they communicate and how that communication is delivered and received.

Your typical work week will include....

  • Shooting, shooting second camera or supporting the senior shooters on bespoke projects.
  • Maintaining gear and equipment, keeping them clean and ready and ensuring batteries are charged.
  • Ensuring that our studio space is ready and clean for any and all upcoming projects including the variety of podcasts that use the space.
  • Communicating with our external gear suppliers as we get ready to shoot on bigger projects.
  • Managing data and video files throughout the various projects.
  • Assisting edits, be it syncing timelines, or creating selected timelines for seniors creatives to work off.
  • Handling the recording and monitoring of sound, either through a boom or lavaliere microphones, and recorded to a zoom recorder or directly to camera.
  • Researching referential content to support in new ideation for upcoming projects.
  • Liaising with the broader marketing teams as we undertake a variety of shoots to ensure everyone is on the same page and nothing is being assumed or forgotten.
