Description
A rare opportunity has arisen to join our prison radio project at HMP Brixton, the beating heart of National Prison Radio.
We’re the charity that developed and runs National Prison Radio, the world’s first national radio station for people in prison.
Last year we picked up a Gold Award at the radio industry’s prestigious ARIAS. In recent years we’ve been crowned Independent Production Company of the Year (Audio Production Awards) and Charity of the Year (Third Sector Awards). We’ve also been nominated for a string of British Podcast Awards.
We’ve also just launched a brand-new, groundbreaking podcast for people who have left prison, called Life After Prison. You may have seen our billboard on London transport and major road junctions across the capital!
We’re looking for a Radio Producer to join our team at HMP Brixton. Working alongside men serving custodial sentences, you’ll be part of a small, high-performing staff team – making life-changing programmes for broadcast into prison cells across the country on National Prison Radio.
Occasional travel to other prisons across the estate may be required.
Ours is an organisation unlike any other, and we’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates from under-represented backgrounds and from people who have lived experience of the criminal justice system.
We’re looking for an experienced and technically proficient producer with a proven track record in producing and editing high-quality radio.
We’re a driven, tight-knit team working in what can be a challenging, exhilarating world, and you will be motivated by the knowledge that your work has the potential to make a real difference.
