Description
BFBS, The Forces Station, wants to hear from you if you’re an experienced Audio Producer excited to embrace our mission to entertain, inform, connect and champion serving British Forces personnel and their families, with trusted, creative media experiences.
As we work to grow our portfolio of original podcasts, to complement our 20+ live radio channels, we’re looking for a skilled Producer who is able to turn their skills to the delivery of both speech programming and station sound for music radio.
Initially on a 12-month fixed term contract, but with potential for a continuing role beyond that, you’ll work to develop new podcast strands, edit and mix regular output, and work alongside our radio teams to add creativity and flair to our broadcast content.
As a hybrid worker, you’ll be able to work from home alongside a minimum 2-days per week in our Buckinghamshire offices.
You will have:
- A track record of producing high quality broadcast/ podcast-ready content
- Experience of producing creative station sound elements for music radio stations, such as imaging, beds and promotions
- Passionate enthusiasm about creative audio production, and an aptitude for telling impactful stories with audio using interviews, soundscapes and music
- A keen editorial mind, with experience making challenging editorial decisions; your job will be to shape and structure programmes, not just to mix and master them
- Excellent editing and mixing skills, particularly using Adobe Audition
- Great organisational skills, including experience of working to tight deadlines
- An ability to communicate with stakeholders of all levels, including training and supporting other colleagues
If your experience looks like a good fit, we will ask you to supply two short showreels:
- Podcast/speech demo – containing examples of your work in programme making, audio storytelling, and narrative sound design
- Station sound demo – a sizzle reel of your working in audio imaging, showcasing your work with jingles, promotions or other station sound elements
