Role Responsibility

This role will be producing and editing our sports coverage and hosting our specialist radio sport programmes. Including daily sports news content, podcasts and long form projects. Creativity is key as is some flexibility with working hours. You will be part of a strong team of journalists who already create engaging content. From the quick turnaround of press conferences, short films and long form packages you will understand what younger audience want to see from their BBC.

Are you the right candidate?

The ideal candidate will have previous experience creating sport content using a range of styles and formats that is exciting, engaging and informative and have excellent self-shooting and editing skills. The ability to use Final Cut Pro software is highly desirable.

You will have a good understanding of how digital platforms differ in terms of their styles and trends, and be able to tailor your content to make the biggest impact on each of them.

You will be able to collaborate with a range of journalists within our team and work with both radio and TV colleagues elsewhere.

You will present our sports coverage on radio in both islands and sometimes on television too.

You will have a full, clean driving licence. Please mention this in your CV.

Please note that you will be asked to submit a CV. We’d love to know not only about your most relevant experience and responsibilities in previous roles, but also any achievements, transferable skills, or areas of personal or professional interest that highlight why you’d be a great candidate for this role.

Please submit a link to your showreel (which best demonstrates your skills for the job) to Matthew Price, matthew.price@bbc.co.uk.
