The Team: Cork’s 96FM & C103 is one of Ireland’s biggest and most successful local radio businesses. Operating from Broadcasting House in the city, Cork’s 96FM is the home to Lorraine & Ross in the Morning and the annual Cork’s 96FM Giving for Living Radiothon.   Playing Cork’s Greatest Hits, C103 is home to the multi-award winning Cork Today with Patricia Messinger.   Both brands attract almost a quarter of a million adult listeners across Cork City and County each week.

Your Role: Cork's 96FM is seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organised Producer/Researcher to join our talented team. You will play a crucial role in shaping the sound and direction of Cork’s 96FM’s daily morning talk show, The Opinion Line with P.J. Coogan.   Reporting to the Local Content Controller, you will work closely with the Senior Producer, the presenter and other colleagues to create compelling content that captivates our audience. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for radio and a keen ear for what makes great content.

Day to day you will:

  • Develop and produce high-quality radio content, including live shows, pre-recorded segments, and special features.
  • Collaborate with presenters and production staff to plan and execute engaging and entertaining programming.
  • Book and coordinate guests, ensuring a diverse and relevant lineup.
  • Research and develop story ideas, ensuring content is current, relevant, and resonates with our audience.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of production, including sound editing, mixing, and ensuring broadcast quality.
  • Monitor listener feedback and ratings, using insights to continually improve and innovate.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new ideas and technologies into our programming.
  • Manage production schedules and ensure all content is delivered on time and within budget.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • Proven experience as a Producer/Researcher  in radio or a related field.
  • Strong creative vision and the ability to generate fresh, original content ideas.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in audio editing software and broadcast technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A passion for radio and a deep understanding of our audience and market.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required.
