Managing Editor

Shannonside Northern Sound has a vacancy for Managing Editor in its newsrooms at Longford and Monaghan

The ideal candidate will:

• Have editorial oversight in developing and implementing the station’s news editorial strategy along with long-term content strategies to keep the station's news coverage relevant and engaging to the audience.
• Manage the daily news production process, including assigning stories to reporters, setting deadlines, and the newsroom's workflow.
• Engage the station's marketing and digital teams to maximize the reach and engagement of news content across various platforms, including radio broadcasts, websites, and social media

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong editorial judgment and knowledge of journalistic ethics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in newsroom software and technology.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of the radio broadcasting industry and current events.
• Leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
