The Video Hub is a dynamic team of expert commercial video producers, highly skilled multi-media Journalists, Talent Bookers and editorial Video Producers. We produce commercial video content for our national brands and also capture and share entertainment content across all Bauer’s brands and social platforms.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Video you will be a highly experienced Video Producer with a vast knowledge of all aspects of commercial video production. You are a first-class camera operator and editor with a deep understanding and passion for cameras, sound, and lighting.

You must be a creative individual who excels in coming up with exciting engaging video concepts and you will collaborate with and lead our video team to create, deliver and optimise compelling entertainment video content to successfully win briefs and build Bauer Media’s reputation as exciting digital content producers and branded content partners.

Role Responsibility

  • Working with Head of Video to create stunning presentations for client pitches.
  • Developing ideas to meet the needs of client briefs – both reactive and proactive, and pitch to clients and agencies.
  • Collaborating and sometimes leading the team in Bauer’s national commercial video production and adhering to both internal and external deadlines.
  • Project managing and directing video content creation in studio and on location.
  • Shooting and editing footage.
  • Lighting sets and recording and monitoring sound quality.
  • Delivering content that is accurate, on-brand, up-to-date and appealing to the audience.
  • Exporting video files and uploading video to all digital touch points.
  • Devising and implementing video distribution/seeding plans to ensure maximum reach.
  • Work with video team to implement and maintain a house-style for all video commercial creation.
  • Mentor Junior Video Producer using your experience to help them develop knowledge and skills.
  • Managing video kit including lighting – ensure all kit is up to date and report any faults.
  • You will happily take the role of director or producer and ensure video content is produced and delivered to the deadline and a high editorial standard.
  • You can identify online trends and personalities, including emerging memes and cultural conversations – and have a genuine passion for celebrity, popular culture and working in media.
  • Selecting music for videos when necessary
  • It’s important to be visible, active, and approachable in your area of the business, providing support to others, when required, and proactively.
  • Being an ambassador for Bauer, living and breathing the brand’s strategy and values.
  • Playing your part in implementing the commercial strategy for Bauer
  • Work with your Manager to ensure that that revenue targets are met

The Ideal Candidate

You have a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience working in commercial video production.

You are a creative individual who excels in coming up with exciting engaging video concepts and leading the team in bringing these ideas to fruition.  You’re comfortable sharing and presenting your work with clients and internal stakeholders alike and relish in finding the non-obvious answer or solution.

Adept at coordinating every aspect of commercial video projects, you will assist in bringing in the right kit and crew, directing team members and freelancers, casting and directing the talent and managing the finances. You will ensure scripts and storylines are current, exciting and engaging whilst always answering the brief.  You will oversee the final video edit and are very happy to get involved when needed.

You are an innovative self-starter, with a passion for visualizing brands stories and a deep understanding of the power of video to entertain audiences whilst conveying brand key messaging. You have a keen interest in and knowledge of digital marketing and a thirst for learning new skills and adapting to the ever-changing social media landscape.

You are also a highly experienced videographer, with outstanding knowledge of all elements of video production.  There is nothing you don’t know about camera’s, lighting and sound and love the challenge of more extreme shoots involving gimbles, drones and other products to capture every angle.

An expert with Premiere Pro and the complete suite of Adobe Creative Cloud professional applications that includes Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. You can film and edit videos to the highest standard and are able to interpret client briefs and quickly answer with exciting video concepts.

  • Analytical thinker with the ability to translate performance data and audience insights into developing commercial video formats.

  • Clear understanding of competitor activity and consumer behaviour.
  • Sound editorial judgment with a passion for storytelling
  • Directing shoots - demonstrates experience and authority on shoots.
  • Highly experienced camera, lighting and location shooting skills.
  • Experience in directing and filming artist music sessions and gigs.
  • Significant experience using Adobe Premiere.
  • Understanding of compression formats for delivery to a range of medium.
  • CMS, YouTube and online video platform experience.
  • Storyboarding and scripting.
  • Awareness of media law and Ofcom compliance.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety requirements on shoots.
  • General graphic and 3D skills highly advantageous including Photoshop and After Effects.
  • Photography skills.
  • Ability to direct a team of videographers.
  • Pro-active, committed, quick thinking and able to work calmly under pressure.
  • A team player at every level, and able to work with stakeholders to see a project through to completion.
  • You have solid experience in editing and shooting, combined with an excellent understanding of all social media platforms, from a video POV.
  • You have a healthy obsession with analytics and a demonstrated understanding of how to create content that will cut through on all platforms; with a focus on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, SnapChat & TikTok.  Growing and engaging audiences on each is paramount.
