Broadcast Journalist East Coast FM

East Coast FM, Wicklow’s leading radio station, is seeking a Broadcast Journalist to join the team at Radio Centre, Bray.

The East Coast FM Newsroom requires a journalist with a strong broadcast voice and great writing skills to be part of the team in Bray that produces local bulletins for East Coast FM, additional content for Sunshine 106.8, and online content for the eastcoast.fm website.

The successful applicant will have extensive broadcast experience in a radio newsroom.  You should be passionate about news, have a good ‘nose’ for a story, and be aware of what’s happening locally, nationally and internationally, 24/7.  You should also be able to demonstrate a proven track record in responding to breaking news stories.

The successful candidate will also have practical knowledge of libel and defamation law and will be familiar with BAI guidelines & broadcast regulations.

You will have strong creative writing skills, production & editing skills and be a competent interviewer. You will develop good working relationships with local stakeholders including politicians, civil servants, Gardaí and other local news outlets and you will be a key contributor to our flagship current affairs programme, The Morning Show.
