Your team: Cork’s 96FM &C103 is one of Ireland’s biggest and most successful local radio businesses. Operating from Broadcasting House in the city, Cork’s 96FM is the home to Lorraine & Ross in the Morning. C103 plays Cork’s Greatest Hits. Both brands attract almost a quarter of a million adult listeners across Cork City and County each week.
Your role: In this role you will write and present hourly news bulletins for Cork’s 96FM & C103. You will also generate audio and written content for broadcast as well as online platforms.

Day to day you will:
- Collate and deliver news bulletins
- Undertake reporting duties on-location outside the studio environment when required
- Pitch and provide original content for multi-platform outlets, including programming and online
- Undertake relevant background news research
- Ensure content is compliant with media law; prevailing guidelines from Coimisiún na Meán and station editorial policies
- Liaise with other members of the production and technical teams
- Shift work will be required which will include early/late shifts, weekends and public holidays.
What we’re looking for from you:
- An energetic journalist with flair and imagination to craft relevant news content for the audience.
- An ability to write accurate, tight and easily understood news copy.
- Ability to work well and calmly in a live newsroom environment; handle a rapidly changing news agenda and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Good broadcasting voice.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Knowledge and experience of audio editing - Cool Edit - is highly desirable..
- A willingness to engage with mobile and video journalism
- A full clean drivers licence
