Bulletin Editor – Tay FM, NorthSound 1 & GHR

Bauer Media Audio is looking for a Bulletin Editor to join our award-winning news team based in Glasgow or Aberdeen reading national bulletins for Scotland and local bulletins for Tay FM, Northsound 1 and Greatest Hits Radio.

The successful candidate will be a talented, experienced news reader, capable of producing multiple news bulletins to the highest possible standard.

Our Team:

You will work closely with the news team across Scotland and link into our news network across the UK, covering the Northsound 1 and Greatest Hits Radio patch in Aberdeen and North East Scotland and Tay FM and Greatest Hits Radio patch in Tayside and Fife. You will also read national bulletins for Scotland.

You will be joining a passionate, hard-working team who really care about keeping our listeners up to date. You must have a genuine interest in local, national and international news, current affairs and sport to fit this role. News never stops and is a huge part of Bauer’s daily output, keeping our radio stations connected to the communities we broadcast to.

Key Responsibilities:

You will have a great voice and the passion and ability to be able to produce compelling bulletins, run a busy news desk, direct reporters and work across a range of on-air, online and social platforms.

You will be able to work calmly and accurately and will ensure everything you broadcast or put on social media is legally sound, Ofcom compliant, accurate and balanced.

You should be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience of modern audio/video broadcasting platforms and how they can assist our teams in delivering news content to a wide range of audiences.

You should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the patch and the kinds of stories which will resonate with our local audiences.

You will update social media feeds and the news pages of our website.

Work with other team members across Scotland and the UK to maintain news diaries and plan ahead to enhance our bulletins in all day parts.

What we’re looking for:

Do you have a passion for news? Do you listen to the radio and want to be the voice of fast moving news patches in two of Scotland’s biggest cities?

This is a full-time role, based in Aberdeen or Glasgow.

You must have a full driving licence.
