Description

We’re the charity that developed and runs National Prison Radio, the world’s first national radio station for people in prison.

This year we picked up a Gold Award at the radio industry’s prestigious ARIAS. In recent years we’ve been crowned Independent Production Company of the Year (Audio Production Awards) and Charity of the Year (Third Sector Awards). We’ve also been nominated for a string of British Podcast Awards.

We run the groundbreaking podcast for people who have left prison, called Life After Prison, as well as the smash hit The Secret Life of Prisons podcast.

We’re looking for a full-time Radio Producer to join our team at HMP Styal. Working alongside women serving prison sentences, you’ll be part of a small, high-performing staff team – making life-changing programmes for broadcast into prison cells across the country on National Prison Radio.

Occasional travel to HMP Brixton and other prisons across the country may be required.

Ours is an organisation unlike any other, and we’re particularly interested in hearing from people who have the required skills and have lived experience of the criminal justice system.

We’re looking for an experienced and technically proficient audio professional with a proven track record in producing and editing high-quality radio.

We’re a driven, tight-knit team working in what can be a challenging, exhilarating world, and you will be motivated by the knowledge that your work has the potential to make a real difference.

How to apply: Please download the relevant job description. Please send your CV along with a covering letter (no more than two sides of A4) outlining how you meet the person specification to recruitment@prison.radio. Along with your CV and covering letter, you should also attach a completed References Form and Diversity Monitoring Form.

The ideal start date for this role is January 2025.

Deadline for applications: Friday 29th November 2024.
