Producer – The Neil Prendeville Show, Red FM

Cork’s Good Time’s Red FM is the most listened to radio station in Cork and we are looking for a talented producer to join The Neil Prendeville Show.

Are you someone with a good nose for a story plus a sense of flair and fun, and with experience working in a fast-paced media world. If so, we’re offering a dynamic career with the ability to reflect and report on the issues of the day in Cork as well as helping shape the future of the city and county.

If you’ve got talent, tenacity and experience to work on Cork’s biggest and most listened to show then this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

We’re looking for a creative story generator with a passion for all things Cork and a desire to create great radio! You will work in studio and will develop a good working relationship with the presenter and the wider team.

The Role

Red FM is recruiting for a producer to join our flagship talk show and the most listened too show in Cork, The Neil Prendeville Show. We're looking for experienced, creative and ambitious people to become part of the dynamic team that gets Cork talking.

What You’ll Do –

- Generate and develop the best original ideas for the programme, undertake daily research.

- Proven ability to generate lots of great content and ideas.

- Record and edit vox pops / features if needed.

- Maintain up-to-date contacts lists.

- Ability to undertake editing, interviewing, and reporting duties as necessary.

- Liaise with callers and contributors.

- Other duties as required.

If the following traits sound like you, you might be the right person for the job:

- You have a strong interest in Cork news and current affairs

- You have a good knowledge of libel and defamation law and BAI Codes of Conduct.

- You have an interest in a broad range of subjects including popular culture

- You’re a self-starter who can identify, pitch and develop current affairs and feature items for broadcast.

- You are proficient in recording and editing and the workings of digital and social media.

- You are driven by ambition to succeed

- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure and to deadlines

- You are a team player
