Be part of something ground breaking. Join our team at HMP High Down as we launch an innovative new media project. You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our community prison radio and TV channels, while empowering prisoners through media training and helping rehabilitation of prisoners in our care.
What you'll do:
- Develop and deliver media training programmes for prisoners
- Manage and build our media workshop
- Work with prisoners and produce high-quality audio and video content for our internal prison radio and TV channels
- Manage and operate studio and broadcast equipment, including Adobe, Reaper, DaVinci, Station Playlist, and Playbox Air
- Contribute to creating pathways into employment into the podcast industry and reducing reoffending rates using the power of media
What we're looking for:
- Experience in audio/video editing and production
- A passion for teaching and mentoring
- Experience of working with diverse groups of people
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a challenging environment
- Knowledge of podcasting and/or radio production
- Knowledge of programming for radio and/or TV

Pathways into employment. While our prison radio and TV channels are key internal communication tools, we’re also developing pathways into employment for our participants. We’re specifically looking at podcast production opportunities. You’ll help develop these links and strategy for HMP High Down.
You’ll also be a part of a wider regional London team of communication officers and Vocational Instructors offering support and direction.
