Description

Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio, the only multi-city radio service in Ireland, broadcasts to over 2.3 million people across eight of Ireland’s largest counties: Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Clare, Kildare, Meath, and Wicklow, with a weekly reach of 360,000 listeners.

We are currently seeking a Senior Producer for our leading news and current affairs show, NIGHTTIME TALK, airing weeknights from 9pm. We are looking for a talented, creative, and ambitious individual to shape and manage the editorial direction of the show, ensuring alignment with our station’s brand and public relations strategy through innovative editorial content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Management: Oversee the strategy for the station’s talk show output.
  • Daily Production: Lead all aspects of the show’s daily production.
  • Content Generation: Develop and research ideas for engaging and entertaining content.
  • Contributor Sourcing: Identify and secure potential contributors and interviewees.
  • Live Production: Manage live broadcasts and react to breaking news or shifts in content.
  • Editorial Duties: Perform editing, interviewing, and reporting as needed.
  • Audio Compilation: Create compelling audio pieces.
  • Editorial Vision: Develop and implement the show’s editorial vision.
  • Project Management: Coordinate with programme and PR management to align with the station’s strategy.
  • Idea Development: Generate fresh, original ideas for the show.
  • Representation: Produce content that communicates directly and professionally with listeners.
  • Editorial Meetings: Organise and manage editorial meetings.
  • Live Broadcasts: Arrange and produce live outside broadcasts when possible.
  • Technology Utilization: Use editing tools such as Cool Edit Pro and Adobe Audition.
  • Commercial & PR Collaboration: Work closely with sales and marketing teams to leverage commercial and PR opportunities.
  • Social Media Development: Create content for Classic Hits’ social media platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Strong leadership qualities.
  • Story Development: Ability to identify and develop compelling stories.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Composure: Ability to work calmly under pressure.
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently.
  • Content Creation: An innate understanding of what makes engaging radio content.
  • Audio Editing: Proficiency in audio editing.
  • Networking: Possess an impressive contact list.
  • Knowledge: Strong interest and understanding of current affairs, sports, lifestyle, entertainment, social issues, and more.
  • On-Air Experience: Welcomed but not essential.
  • Social Media Proficiency: Skilled in creating attention-grabbing content for social media platforms.
  • Deadline Management: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of BAI Codes and Standards.
  • PR Experience: Experience in PR and event management is welcomed but not essential.
